Our Design Consultation Process

LET'S GET STARTED

An initial consultation is the first part of your landscaping design process. Together, we'll determine your specific requirements for your unique landscape design.outsidein-download-icon

LANDSCAPE DESIGN CONSULTING

The purpose of your initial landscape design consultation is for us to meet, discuss your project with your associated ideas, aspirations and concerns and take steps to making these ideas a reality. We recommend you keep on hand any samples, photographs, images or sketches that you may have that will be useful to reference in our time together to help communicate your ideas.

Consultation

In your consultation we can offer you a variety of useful information, such as:

  • advice on important Council and engineering matters pertaining to your project;
  • site assessment and design solutions for challenging areas;
  • discuss internal residence finishes and features (e.g. achieving optimal flow from outside to in);
  • pool design and renovation;
  • alfresco and outdoor room designs;
  • materials and finishes: paving, decking, tiling, stone cladding, colour selections;
  • garden features and planting ideas;
  • construction budget and assessment.

THE CONSULTATION PROCESS

STEP 1 – Book a Consult.

Once you have made your booking a Pre-Consult Brief will be emailed to you. This will help us learn a bit more about your landscape design wants and needs.

STEP 2 – Brief, Site Plans & Inspiration.
Tell us as much information as possible within your Pre-Consult Brief. As part of our preparation we also ask you to start collecting images that inspire you from Houzz, Pinterest, magazines, anything that will communicate how you want to feel within your outdoor spaces.

Share these with us prior to our consult, along with your Pre-Consult Brief and, most importantly, your Site and House plans. If you don't have these your local Council will be able to assist for a small fee.

STEP 3 – We Meet.
With your individual needs, lifestyle and budget in mind, our designer will visit the site or residence and spend an hour with you discussing in detail your desired outdoor space and how you can achieve it. You can decide whether you would like to start with a Concept Plan or move into a Detailed Landscape Plan.

A quote will be emailed through to you outlining proposed landscape design works including 3D design along with the process of our design journey. That is when we meet again, view the 3D design, look at material choices and discuss possible changes if required.
