The defining challenge for this landscape design was integrating a concrete plunge pool into the compact front courtyard of the property. The homeowners envisioned this space as a private holiday retreat, yet desired to avoid a sense of confinement created by the surrounding elements. Meeting stringent pool safety regulations while delivering on the aesthetic and functional brief required innovative design solutions, which ultimately proved successful.
A key component of the design was to envelop the space in greenery, catering to the homeowners’ affinity for gardening and their transition from a larger property. To address the limited space, we incorporated vertical green walls and replaced the stark existing pavers with sandstone steppers and ground-level greenery, effectively creating a sense of openness and enhancing the overall spatial experience.
